Ad Films Nepal began as a vision of structure and discipline in a world driven by art. In the 1960s, Gehendra Dhimal recognized that filmmaking in Nepal needed more than creativity; it needed organization. His methodical approach transformed an emerging scene into a functioning industry. From Maitighar, Nepal’s first privately produced feature, to modern international co-productions, his legacy continues through generations.

Partnering with Prem Upadhya, Dhimal laid the foundation for everything we now call film production management. Together, they introduced schedules, call sheets, and financial transparency to a country just discovering its cinematic identity.

Today, Gautam Dhimal carries that legacy forward as the company’s Producer and Line Producer, connecting the craftsmanship of his father’s era with the demands of digital filmmaking and global broadcast standards
